Summer Break officially starts at 4 pm today! The Giles School community has had an excellent year and there is so much for which to be grateful!

Our 3rd Annual Giles School Community Gala this past fall was a success. Many of our Giles families and staff came out to enjoy a fun evening of celebrating our community.

We witnessed our children’s success both in the classroom and in various competitions and formal assessments: perfect scores in the standardised Mandarin exam, placement in the top 1% of the nation on the Canadian Test of Basic Skills, and medals awarded in Math and Mandarin contests.

We saw our students and community rally to help those in need with fundraising efforts for cancer research, toys for sick children, the homeless of Ecuador and those affected by wildfires in Alberta. As announced today our school’s effort to collect fresh food and donations for Second Harvest was recognized in the Top 20 Second Harvest Hero campaigns in 2016. What a wonderful testament to our thoughtful and generous community!

We would like to thank staff, parents and students for a remarkable year. We look forward to an equally successful 2016-2017 school year!
