VISITING ANIMALS WORKSHOP - PREK TO SK

On January 16, our PreK through Senior Kindergarten students welcomed a special group of animal visitors into the classroom for a hands-on learning experience focused on curiosity, care, and respect for living creatures.

During the workshop, students had the opportunity to observe and gently interact with a variety of animals, including reptiles and small mammals. Guided by an experienced presenter, children learned about animal habitats, movement, and basic needs while practicing careful listening and turn-taking. For many students, this was their first close-up encounter with animals they had previously only seen in books.

Hands-on experiences like this at The Giles School support early science learning while also building empathy, confidence, and respect for the natural world.
