Grades 4–6 Onsite Soap Making Workshop – October 2025

On October 27, 2025, Giles students in Grades 4–6 rolled up their sleeves for an onsite Soap Making Workshop. Guided by teachers and experts, learners followed a “My Soap-Making Guide,” practiced lab safety (aprons, gloves, and teacher-handled heat), and explored the science of solutions and states of matter while melting and pouring glycerin soap.

Working in small teams, students measured ratios, added colorants and scents, and experimented with mix-ins and embeds before pouring into heart and disc silicone molds. The session blended learning with creativity and collaboration, and everyone wrapped a personalized bar to take home—proof that science can be clean, colorful, and a lot of fun!
