We’re pleased to let you know that five of our dear students in Grade 6 have won prizes for the Individual/Small Group-Primary/Elementary category of the Languages Build Video Contest held by the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) in March 2022.

Language learners across Canada were invited to create a video that shares how learning an additional language has helped “build” aspects of their identities, personalities, or societies. Students had to create a video that describes what “Languages Build” means to them. They needed to share their personal thoughts and experiences on how learning a second or additional language has impacted their lives. The video had to be recorded in a second language and Grades 5 and 6’s students were ready to accept the challenge and speak exclusively in French.

Nethra Dave, Natalie Jiang, Ibrahim Elgammal and Elias Obeid won the first runner-up prize: $100 + a certificate + video featured by CASLT on their website.

Gabrielle Ghafari won the second runner-up prize: $50 + a certificate + video featured by CASLT on their website.

All dear students, congratulations on your incredible success! We always knew you could do it, and we are incredibly proud of you. You worked so hard and pushed your abilities to the limit to make this success happen. So pleased to see you accomplishing great things. Congrats!
