international day of peace
  • School Events

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21st. The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. In 2001, the General Assembly unanimously voted to designated the Day as a period of non-violence and cease-fire.

On International Day of Peace, students learned to think critically about how they can continue to contribute to the mission of keeping world peace, even outside the day of International Day of Peace. Students discussed how to make positive changes and foster peace and justice in the classroom and in their communities.
