Senior School

The Grade 4 to 8 curriculum prepares students for success in corresponding subject areas and international exams at the secondary level.

French immersion is a key part of the curriculum and from Grades 4 to 8, French and English instruction share equal time. Mandarin and Japanese classes (with small teacher-student ratios) are offered in all senior grades.

Starting in Grade 4, math and science are “team-taught” by a specialist and the homeroom teacher. This strategy combines subject expertise with discipline-specific language skills – a successful formula exclusive to The Giles School. Students begin laboratory courses in chemistry, biology and physics in Grade 5.
