Curriculum

Early academic learning within the context of a well-tailored French immersion programme represents the cornerstone of a Giles School education. We capitalize on a child's heightened sensitivity to learning in the younger grades (Pre-K to Grade 3) with a programme that focuses on language and mathematics, but not at the expense of music or the arts.

The continuously heavy, positive stimulation children receive prepares them for the higher grades, where their acceleration into progressively more advanced subject areas, covering increasingly more complex topics at a rate at least one-and-a-half to two years ahead of what would be expected of them at the public (and most private) schools. Students are able to function at this higher level sooner and with greater ease because of the foundation laid down when children are quite young. Simply put, The Giles School believes that children are capable of accomplishing far more at a much earlier age than most other schools. It is this faith in children's talents, cultivated within a protected, privileged space of learning that devotes loving attention to the development of social and emotional intelligence, that accounts for our continued success.
